A beginner's mind

Mindfulness for teens

Just as exercise and eating healthily are good for your health and wellbeing, mindfulness practice is an additional life skill that can help improve your mental health and emotional wellbeing.

A beginner’s mind is a 4 week mindfulness course for 13 - 15 year olds who wish to explore mindfulness practice to improve their emotional wellbeing.

We offer a safe, relaxed and non-judgemental space to help you understand what mindfulness is and how you can use the practices in your day to day.

What you will learn;

  • To accept yourself as you are
  • To be kind to yourself
  • To understand how your body and mind work together.
  • To notice your thoughts and feelings and how they can affect your behaviour and mood.
  • To notice when you’re stressed and how to respond in a helpful way.

This course is not therapy or treatment, and is therefore not suitable for those who are currently struggling with a mental health condition.

If you are concerned about your child’s mental health please see your GP for further guidance. A list of symptoms to look out for can be found on the NHS Choices Website.
